I thought I'd share one of my favorite quilting tips for keeping my cutting table neat and clean. I actually borrowed this idea from Rachel Ray. She keeps a scrap bowl in her kitchen. Instead of running to the trash can to throw away boxes, trimmings from veggies, etc., Rachel keeps a big bowl on her counter! She throws her trash in there, and then just makes one trip to the trash can.
While I don't use this tip in the kitchen, I do keep a scrap bowl at my cutting table, and I love it! As I cut my fabric, I just throw my scraps in the bowl, and voila--my cutting table stays much more organized and neat!
I chose an antique bowl that my mom gave me, but you could use your favorite basket, a fabric covered box, or any cute little tray! Plus, it serves a dual purpose--it's a cute way to decorate your cutting area and it's one less mess to clean up!
TTFN,
Kelly
