I'm having a hard time keeping up with blogging these days - so I thought I'd do a little combo/catch-up post. A post on the club tag this month from our Charming co-leader Joan which is to list some of our favorite things, which relates to our Spring Sewing Party, which also relates to my Surpise Valentine Date with Studly (am I rambling??)!
So, one of my new favorite things to do is hang out with all of you girls at our sewing parties. And, our
is one week from today - Saturday, February 27.
We'll do the party pretty much the same as the last, except with one deadline.
I'll post the "Spring Sewing Party" host post on Thursday, February 25th. YOU MUST COMMENT ON THAT POST WITH THE LINK TO YOUR POST FOR THE SEWING PARTY BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH AT 9:00 P.M. CST.
I'll add all of the links to the post (so that we can visit each other easily). If you haven't posted a comment there with your link by 9, then you'll miss out!
Some of my other favorite things are
Moda fat quarter bundles - just can't get enough of these.
Hand applique
(this is Block 2 of "Home Tweet Home" by Stitch Studios),
and hand embroidering these
very fun
"Nice People Nice Things" blocks.
Another favorite is
"Schnibbles" (oh, and "Tuffets")!
Studly knows all about my favorite things -and got most of them in on our Surprise Valentine Date.
When I say surprise date - I mean SURPRISE DATE - everything is a surprise, because Studly is in charge of everything (he decides where we go, how we get there, what we do, what we eat). I get to just relax and enjoy the ride - VERY FUN!
First, we had brunch at IHOP, because one of my favorite things is
pancakes (my apologies for the "after" shot - I was hungry)!
Then we did a bit of shopping. Studly knows that some of my favorite things are items that with sayings on them - either inspirational, thought provoking sayings OR
sayings like this that make me Laugh Out Loud! Yes, Studly got me the Merlot glass to match my other wine glass.
Oh, and another favorite thing is a good glass of Merlot wine - which is why this glass is so special.
Another favorite thing is
truffles - so Studly took me to the "Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory" to pick up some dessert for later!
Now, it's confession time. I really thought I'd be grown-up by the time I hit 40.
Okay - so now I'm shooting for 50!
I'm still a big kid at heart - and I still love stuffed animals! Several years ago, Studly and I were on a trip to Ohio, and he took me to "Build A Bear" where I giggled, smiled, oohhhed and aahhhed, and made
Faith. Well, Studly said she looked awful lonely, and needed a friend.
So, he took me to "Build A Bear" and we made
a friend for Faith. Still not sure what to name this little guy -- any ideas?
Then, we went to "Outback", and had an appetizer while we waited for them to get our "take-out" dinner ready
another "after-shot" - sorry, but all that laughing, shopping, and bear-building really built up an appetite for another favorite thing -- appetizers!
Then, we brought dinner home to enjoy it by the fire and candle-light
Yes - Studly treated me to a "Carpet Picnic" - another of my favorite things!
Which leads me to a funny story - Studly ordered my dinner, and then the
Waitress: (looks to me) "And for you?"
Me: "Oh, that was for me" (what he ordered).
Waitress: (looking surprised) "Oh, I'm sorry - I don't see very many gentlemen these days."
Me: (smiling) "Oh, it's no problem."
Studly: (beaming) "And, I'll have . . . "
And that leads me to my very favorite thing --
sharing my life with a True Gentleman!
TTFN,
Kelly

Your Studly is certainly Studling (I don't think it's a word. Sounds like the surprise was really enjoyed. You should name Faith's friend, Studly, so she'll have a Studly too.
Love your applique.

How lovely to be married to a member of an endangered species. Glad you enjoyed your uber special day with your handsome guy.
My mother-in-law always told me, "People aren't lucky, they are blessed." It looks like that applies to you and Studly. You're both blessed to have each other.

For some reason I am hungry now.LOL Wish I was going to be part of the party but it is my son's Birthday Party and he is having a roller skating party. I will be sewing that night with friends but no access to a computer.

Just letting you know, as I just did Joan, that I can FINALLY say I'll be participating in Saturday's event. I will have to play catch-up because of our commitment to the high School baseball team's fund rally, a pancake breakfast.
See you all then.
