Whew - wee! What a month it's been. I've missed you all, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the groove of things.
I didn't get A LOT of sewing in this month - and I only have one finish that I planned on at the beginning of March. But, I was inspired to start a few things this month!
First up - our friend and fellow club member, Darlene of Quilting Daze, designed a quilt called "Between Friends" - and was kind enough to share her design with all of us. And, Tammy at Ginger Patches and Cheryl at Polka Dots & Rick Rack (also fellow club members) were both making it in "Swell" fabric.
Well - I happened to have a "Swell" FQB, and I wanted to make something fun and beautiful, something not on my "To Do List"/"Work List"
and this was just the perfect quilt for Spring! Thank you Darlene, Tammy, and Cheryl for the inspiration!!!
I've been dying to make something with my "Fresh Cottons" FQB
and this fun "Quilt Along"
was perfect for it! Thanks for inspiring me with your lovely blocks, Kris! Only six blocks to go!
I did finish one of my goals
quilting and binding "Home for the Holidays" (a quilt I designed using "Merry & Bright" fabric)!
And, I stitches a few NPNT blocks
And, I saved this for last - because it's my favorite!
I was blessed to win a drawing over at my dear friend, Darlene of Quilting Daze, and she is stitching the "Snowbound" blocks from the BOM at Bunny Hill - and sending a block to me each month.
Every month, I light up when I see the envelope from Darlene - and I wanted to design a setting for this quilt that really honored this wonderful gift, and my wonderful friend.
Here is the first row of the quilt:
The white dot will be the inner border, the snowflake fabric will be the outer border, and the red and white stripe will be the binding.
Thank you SO MUCH Darlene for this wonderful gift!
Okay, so that's what I've been up to - that's where I've been for March. Oh, and one other thing - I did get bitten by the
"Spring Deep Cleaning Bug" - and I've been doing a lot of cleaning!
Now, the "deep" cleaning bug doesn't bite me very often (just ask Studly) - you all understand why I had to go with it!
So not much sewing, but a much cleaner, much more organized house (smile)!
