Little late on the update - I stitched until 11:30 p.m., and was too tired to post. Also had fun chatting with some late partiers like me - Darlene, Mary and Allie thanks for staying late and keeping me company!
My friend Nancy, who doesn't have a blog chose the word "Fortitude" this year. Nancy has a chronic illness that makes every day tasks I take for granted difficult - but she's got the fun-loving, sweet spirit. Nancy stitched with us
in her favorite PJ's (don't know about you all - but I was in sweats all day/loved it)!
Nancy had some yummy snacks
adorable project! Just love the "Happy" fabric - it's so you Nancy!!
As for me, in sticking with the theme of rest, I watched
Favorite Line - "You can have roots and wings, Mel." And, not sticking with the theme - I watched "The Notebook" - just because.
Thanks again to Kris of Dandelion Quilts for co-hosting with me. Thanks so much to all of you for joining us! I had a blast - just wish there were more time! Maybe we just need to have more sewing parties - what do ya think??
I'm off to check in on all of you, and catch up on e-mails and my google reader!
TTFN,
Kelly

I 'heart' Nancy - she's truly a sweetie. I love her project; I'm glad she sent pictures.
Your stars are beautiful.

How nice of you to share her work with us. Love the soft stars. I worked on finishing my tasks today and will post it on tomorrows blog - got the last blocks stitched, piecing done and row added to the quilt. Now to have fun and play in the scrap bin as a reward.

I love those jammies Nancy. The fabric is too cute and I love the little stitching on the edge. I'm still sewing today - Some of us are die-hards! LOL!! Thanks Kelly and Kris it's been fun.

Good job Nancy! Kelly, I love your stars...so pretty. I think you will be very happy with the redo. I am totally game for more parties and even more hosting! Love Sweet Home Alabama, BTW. Great choice.

I would love if you had more sewing parties! I had to miss this one as we had company coming and a busy weekend. Your stars are coming along beautifully. Missed sewing with you.

Love Nancy's project and those are great start blocks Kelly. Thanks to you and Kris for the fun sewing day.

It was very fun, and so strange to be doing something I love all day - not running around the house like a madwoman trying to fit in sewing, lol! I had to laugh, Nancy and I were both in our jammies, and I worked on the same project after I quilted my quilt! WTG Nancy! I love her colors she's used.
Kelly your stars are so gorgeous - lovely, lovely job! Thanks to you and Kris for hosting a wonderful party!

Oh my gosh!!! Thanks everyone for your sweet comments, it is so fun sewing with my friends like this. I don't belong to any guilds or Bee's so this is truly a delight for me. Thanks so much Kelly for sharing my pictures with everyone. Ummm...sorry for the poor quality, they are taken with my computer cause my camera is sick, LOL. BUT...you get the idea. I love all the projects everyone was working on and those that finished. As I was looking through all of them, I noticed that another fun cyber friend (I'm so sorry, the name has flown right out of my head) is stitching on "Give Thanks" also and hers is really wonderful! A really great project. Thanks so, sew, much Kelly and Kris for such fun special time. I would love more parties Kelly...but don't want you and other folks that host them to wear yourselves out with them. I mean, it takes a lot to host a party...cooking snacks, cleaning house, etc, *wink*...hehehe. Thanks again for a fun, fun time. Big Hugs all around...

I had a great time. I don't have many sewing friends in real life, and most of the ladies in the Guild are retired, so they get together during the week. I loved setting aside an entire day to sew and surf blogs. Thanks Kelly, for hosting!

Loved Nancy's PJs and her project. Very heartwarming. Thank you for the Word Up Sewing Party. It was great. It made for a dedicated time for sewing. When you plan another party count me in.
Have a super great sewing day.

I just want to say that how much I enjoyed reading all the posts and updates this weekend. I was sick with a bad sore throat and didn't feel like posting, but I snacked and sewed and watched movies right along with you. Love your movie choices and quotes, Kelly. I watched Something's Gotta Give: my favorite line "I am honest. I always tell some version of the truth!" and also watched As Good as it Gets: my favorite line "Why can't I have a normal boyfriend? Why? Everybody wants that dear...they don't exist!" Anyway, sorry for such a long comment but I also love your Durham Anew fabric...would be perfect for my block swap partner this month. Gonna go shopping!! Thanks again!

OH BRRRRRR....Not sure how your weather is Kelly but the wind is howling here and with the clear skies it is wicked cold. Wind chill has us down to 20 below! We are just getting ready to go to J C Penny's too, they are having a sale that ends today and I have GOT to have some new sheets. *sigh*...at least I know it will be warm in here when we get home. We have a fire roaring in the wood burner downstairs and the gas log going up here to keep the house toasty. Well, Just stopped by to say howdy. Big Hugs....
