time is here - and I couldn't be happier! We've managed to squeeze in a bit of pool time - and A - LOT of yard work - how about you all?
Haven't shared a recipe in a while (though I cook, take photos and plan to share recipes all the time)! So, now that summer time is coming - and strawberries will be in abundance, here is one of my favorites
Strawberry Bread
Ingredients:
3 Cups Flour
3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Salt
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
20 Ounces Crushed Ripe Strawberries (approx. 2 pints whole strawberries)
4 Eggs
1 1/4 Cups Vegetable Oil
Clean strawberries, cut in half, add 1/2 cup of sugar, and mash. In your mixing bowl, add first 4 ingredients and the remaining 2 cups of sugar, and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and strawberries. Mix until well blended. Pour batter into 2 - 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pans that are well greased and floured. Bake 1 hour at 350 Degrees. Cool. Slice. Enjoy!
Been Stitching
I got two quilts back from Mary at Quilt Hollow - and I'm in love! I was going to wait until the patterns for these were ready to go before I shared
but the quilting is so gorgeous - I thought you all would like a peek
And, since the quilting is SO DARN GORGEOUS
I'm happily spending these hot summer evenings with a big quilt on my lap
binding! Thanks Mary - you're the quilting bomb!!
Going Commentless
Summer is a busy time, and we have a lot of things planned. Studly and I want to spend lots of time together - and with the kiddos. We are working on some remodeling projects, I have a ton of sewing projects that I want to complete, we have the herb and vegetable gardens, and yard work in addition to our regular stuff. And, there are picnics, barbeques, pool time, trying new summertime recipes using all of those herbs and veggies . . .
I love to read what's going on in your lives (and to be inspired by all of your pretty projects), and I am so grateful for your comments! You're all so sweet - and such an encouragement to me. And, I love to share what's going on here with you! But, too much computer time = not good for me and my family!
So that I can still enjoy visiting all of you - and also share with you here, I've decided to save computer time by going commentless for the summer!
So, I'll be reading and enjoying your blogs - and I want you to feel free to visit here, look, read, and just enjoy - and take those extra few minutes you'd have used to post a comment here - to do a little something you'd like to do - take a few minutes extra to stitch or breath or relax in the tub :) :) !!
I chatted with my sweet friend Carol of Brown Quilts about this yesterday - and she is taking the "commentless" plunge with me! We'll be using Mr. Linky so we can all stay in touch with the "Simple Things" Quilt Along! And, you can also reach me via e-mail.
As I was typing this whole "commmentless" thing - feeling a little bad - in comes Studly Jr.
with a box of some of my favorite chocolates! He'd been out, saw these, called Studly Sr. - and bought them for me! Just cuz!
And, I knew I'd made the right decision!
Back with cutting instructions and Mr. Linky for the "Simple Things" Quilt Along tomorrow!!
TTFN,
Kelly
