We made a yummy evening snack - and thought I'd share a quick, fun recipe with you girls! Here is what you'll need for your "Gizzards"
A half gallon of vanilla ice cream, marshino cherries, and candy bars (we all pick our favorites).
Speaking of favorites, mine is
Cherry Mash. Do you all have these where you live? It's ooey, gooey cherry flavored goodness covered in chocolate and peanuts! YU-UM and, they make them
right here in good 'ole St. Joe, MO at the Chase Candy Company!
Okay, so to make your Gizzards, cut up your candy bar in large chunks, and chop it in your food processor
Soften your ice cream a bit in the microwave (30 seconds to 1 minute) so that it is just melting on the sides of the container! Add 3 scoops of ice cream, and blend until creamy!
Pour into a fun glass
and top with a cherry! There you have it - a Gizzard! Super easy and fun!
Oh, you might be wondering about the name for these! Well, after we ate them, we were discussing names! And, I said - we can't use "Blizzards" that's a registered trademark for Dairy Queen! We threw around names like "Snow Storms" and "White Outs"! Then:
Studly Jr.: We should name them "Guy" something . . .
Studly Sr.: "Gizzards"
Me: (Dying Laughing) Yup, that's it!
So there you have it "Guy" + "Blizzards" = "Gizzards"!
TTFN,
Kelly
