Studly and I are planning to remodel our kitchen this fall. I found this buffet/hutch on sale so thought I'd get an early start. We're going to do white walls and cabinets, and I'm going to accent with red! Here is the old cabinet
Studly put my new one up this weekend - so today was a decorating day! I started with a bit of
And here is the new cabinet
love having my cook books so easily accessible.
I wasn't sure how well I'd like it
Oh, and I got this ceramic pitcher
at TJ Max (I'm a total "Maxinista") and got the flowers on sale at Hobby Lobby!
So, I was watching "Barefoot Contessa" on Food Network one day, and her florist was on, talking about how he arranges flowers for vases. I gave it a shot - and thought it worked pretty well!
You put one flower in your hand, and then add the other flowers (some higher and some lower) continuing to grasp them in your hand like you're holding a bouquet. Then, secure them with rubber bands.
Then, I stood them up next to the pitcher to see how much I needed to cut off. I moved the bottom rubber band to just above that, and snipped them all off with wire cutters
so the stems are all lined up at the bottom! Then, stick them in the pitcher and voila
they all lay exactly like you arranged them in your hands!
Here's what I see when I walk in the kitchen now
and it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
TTFN,
Kelly
