When the cool air moves in for fall, I'm always excited to make a pot of chili! Not only is this recipe truly scrumptious - it's also a super quick and easy way to feed your family a hearty meal (or two)!
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs. Ground Beef
1 Medium Yellow Onion
2 - 15 oz. Cans Diced Tomatoes
1 - 8 oz. Can Tomato Sauce
2 - 15 oz. Cans Red Beans
1 - 15 oz. Can Kidney Beans
1/2 Cup Dry Red Wine (Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon) (optional)
1 Tsp. Salt
1/4 Tsp. Pepper
1 Tsp. Garlic Salt
1/4 Cup Chili Powder
Optional For Garnish
Sour Cream
Sliced Green Onions
Shredded Colby Jack Cheese
Here's How You Make It
Finely dice the onion.
Pour onion, ground beef, salt and pepper in pan, cook on medium heat. Cook until well browned, and drain any excess grease. Pour in wine, and allow to simmer for about five minutes.
Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and beans to the ground beef. NOTE: I drain about half of the liquid off of each can of beans, because we like our chili thick and hearty.
Add the garlic salt and chili powder.
Stir well. Simmer for about 20 minutes, and serve!
Tonight I served the chili with cornbread!
BONUS: It makes a large pot - so I don't have to cook tomorrow :) I'll change it up a bit for the leftovers! We'll have the chili with sour cream, green onions, shredded cheese and tortilla chips!
TTFN,
Kelly

Looks really tasty! My husband makes crock pot chili that is divine but he's super stingy about making it so maybe I can make meet my chili needs on my own now : )

I LOVE making chili when it gets cool - but I make mine in the crockpot. The smell drives us nuts all day, lol!

That was a good topic. So true too! Great pictures, was the younger boy your son also? Loved the last picture where Studly is holding the pink bag think it was just the right picture for the topic you chose LOL. Have a great day.

Hello,
I've been reading this board for quite a long time. Recently, firefox tries to stop me from visiting - it says that this website is infected.
Can you do something about it?
Thanks in advance
