The Mrs. quilt top is finished :o)
I had planned to make my quilt in pastel wovens, so that it would match McStudly's, but the fabric wasn't calling to me. So, I told McStudly I was thinking of making mine with bright and cheery fabric, but told him I wasn't sure if I should because then our quilts wouldn't match!
Me: You're so right - we are different. But,, we're so similar, too! We are stitched together with different fabric, but we are made from the same human/quilt pattern!
You see, he is male and I am female. He is hard where I am soft. He is muscular and I am, well, squishy! He is more of a pessimist, and I'm more of an optimist. He's a guardian, I'm an idealist. He's shoe/schedule. I'm barefoot/free spirit. He's pretty quiet and I'm a talker. He's a pooh and I'm a tigger! He is dark, yang woven and I am bright, yin cotton!
Yet, at our human core, we are the same. Our different fabric is stitched together with the same human pattern. We long for companionship and connection. We want to be understood and accepted, and to understand and accept others. We feel all the same pain and joy. We get confused, and feel like we've lost our way sometimes. We dream, we try, we do our best, and in the end, we hope that we leave the world a bit better place than when we found it.
Yes, it's true, we are completely different, yet we are exactly the same. But, I think the most important part about us isn't how we're different, or even how we're the same. The most important part about us is:
that we are bound together forever in love :o)
